2 Boys Hit By Car In West Pullman

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two boys were hurt Saturday afternoon when they were struck by a car driven by a motorist who might have been on a cell phone at the time.

The 11-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy were walking at the intersection of 119th Street and Harvard Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood at around noon when they were hit by a car, police said.

The driver stopped after hitting the boys.

Witnesses on the scene told police the motorist was on a cell phone, police said. He is being interviewed by police, and may face citations for that.

The children were stabilized on the scene by paramedics, and then taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis.
