NW Indiana Woman Disappears From Home

PORTAGE, Ind. (CBS) -- Police in northwest Indiana are searching for a 50-year-old woman who vanished from her home on Sunday.

Cheryl Ann Seay was last seen at her home in the 6400 block of Portage Avenue in Portage, Ind., at about 4 a.m., police said in a community alert.

She and her 12-year-old son had fallen asleep watching TV and when her son woke up at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, he thought Seay had gone to bed.

Later that day, it was determined that a coat had been covered up by the bedding on Seay's bed, making it look like someone was in the bed, according to police.

There were no signs of foul play and many of Seay's personal items were found inside the home. Her vehicle was located at the home and the clothes she was wearing when her son last saw her was also found at the residence.

Seay is as 5-foot-5 and 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, according to police.

Anyone with information should call Portage police at (219) 762-3122.
