Arson Suspected In West Rogers Park Garage Fire

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are looking into a suspicious fire that demolished three cars inside a garage in the West Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side early Saturday, police said.

At 4:20 a.m. a man who was "sound asleep" was awakened by popping noises, breaking glass and the smell of smoke at 2447 W. Lunt Ave., according to a Rogers Park District police lieutenant.

He found a fire burning at his garage and he called 911. Firefighters put out the fire before it spread to the residence and no one was hurt, the lieutenant said.

Three cars in the garage were left "burned out'' and police believe the fire was suspicious, according to the lieutenant.
