15 Arrested At Underage Drinking Party

MCHENRY, IL (STMW) -- Deputies responding to a loud noise complaint in the northwest suburbs arrested 15 after finding a large amount of alcohol and teens scrambling to hide or escape an underage drinking party hosted by a 22-year-old McHenry man last weekend.

Marcos A. Barron, of the 2700 block of Old Oak Dr., allegedly hosted the party, which was busted about 12:45 a.m. on Sunday after McHenry County Sheriff's deputies received complaints of loud noise, a release from the sheriff's office said.

Deputies spoke to Barron, who admitted he was hosting the party with more than 40 people. While speaking to him, deputies saw a large number of people attempting to leave the home or hiding within the home, the release said.

Deputies saw in plain sight a large amount of alcohol and learned that four 16-year-olds and two 17-year-olds, as well as eight people between 18 and 20, were also present at the party, the release said.

Four juveniles were cited for violation of curfew, while two were cited for underage consumption by a minor. All six were released to a parent or guardian.

Eight others were cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and were released from the scene to an adult, the release said.

Barron was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, the release said. He was ordered held on $20,000 and will appear for a preliminary hearing on March 9.
