New Shopping Festival Coming To Mag Mile
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Magnificent Mile is teeming with activity every day, but expect it to get even more intense this summer when a new festival debuts.
CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association has announced plans for the new In-Fashion Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival, which is planned for 14 days in August and September.
The festival will be similar to events in cities all around the world, from Dublin and Cannes to Shanghai. It will support and bolster the Magnificent Mile's reputation as a shopping mecca, the association said.
The festival is expected o include chefs, trunk shows, designer events, street performances and high-end raffle prizes, Habermehl reported.
It will feature multiple retail categories, including fashion, home, culinary, technology and culture, the association said.
The inaugural festival is planned for Aug. 26 to Sept. 8.
