CHICAGO (WBBM) — Amid all the talk about a new City Council, some aldermen are experiencing a mixture of happy expectation and concern.
As WBBM Newsradio 780 Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports, Ald. Pat Dowell (3rd) says change is always a good thing, so she welcomes new members to the City Council.

But she says fiscal experts such as departing aldermen Freddrenna Lyle (6th) and Helen Shiller (46th) will be sorely missed at budget times.
Colleague Ald. Ariel Reboyras (30th) agrees.
“Having 13, 14 new individuals – it’s not a bad thing, but we have lost some knowledge, and I think they’re going to be looking for us. We’ve been around for a while, and hopefully it’s a good working relationship, because obviously, the folks thought they could do the job,” Reboyras said.
Nearly a third of the City Council seats will have new members come May 16.
