Downstate Teacher In Trouble Over Soiled Underwear Incident

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (CBS) -- A downstate special education teacher is in trouble with school officials, after ordering pupils to remove and present their underwear in order to find out who had soiled his pants.

The teacher at Webster Elementary School in downstate Collinsville found feces on the classroom floor on March 30, the Belleville News-Democrat reported.

In response, the teacher ordered each of the seven students in the third and fourth grade class to go into bathroom stalls, remove their underwear, put their clothes back on, and present their underwear for the teacher to examine.

While a letter to parents emphasized that the pupils were never disrobed in front of the teacher, the school district still removed the teacher from the classroom for the rest of the year, the News-Democrat reported.
