Late Night Construction To Cause Red Line Delays

CHICAGO (STMW) - Overnight construction work is expected to cause delays on the Red Line this weekend.

Red Line trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Lake and North/Clybourn stations from 11 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday while crews perform construction to renovate the Grand station, according to the CTA's website.

As a result, passengers must board and exit all trains on the 95th-bound platform at the Grand and Chicago stations and the 95th-bound side of the platform at the Clark/Division station, the CTA said.

From 11 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday, trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Fullerton and Clark/Division stations while crews do track maintenance, the CTA said.

Passengers must board and exit all trains on the Howard-bound platform at the North/Clybourn station.

Minor delays are expected and passengers are advised to allow extra travel time.
