Car Slams Into Fitness Center In Countryside
COUNTRYSIDE, Ill. (CBS) -- No one was injured Thursday morning when a car slammed into a Curves fitness center in west suburban Countryside.
At 6:20 a.m., the car struck the fitness center in a strip mall at 55th Street and Willow Springs Road, according to a Countryside police dispatcher.
CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports somebody apparently lost control of his or her car, and slammed into the front door of the fitness center. The car went straight up over the parking space block in the parking lot, skipped onto the sidewalk, and hit the building.
It is not known whether a mechanical problem, driver error or some sort of medical conditions was to blame.
Building inspectors were set to come out to check on the structural integrity of the building before removing the car.
No one was reported injured.
