Red Line Construction To Cause Overnight Delays

CHICAGO (STMW) - Late night Red Line riders should allow extra travel time this week, as Downtown and Near North Side construction is expected to cause minor delays.

Red Line trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the North/Clybourn and Lake stations from 11 p.m. Monday until 4 a.m. Tuesday, while crews perform track maintenance, according to the CTA's website. The work will continue at the same times the rest of the week, ending early Friday.

As a result, passengers must board and exit all trains on the Howard-bound side of the platform at the Clark/Division station, and on the Howard-bound platform at the Chicago and Grand stations.

Minor delays are expected and the CTA advises passengers to allow extra travel time.
