Ditka's Son Arrested For DUI
DEERFIELD (CBS) -- Michael P. Ditka, the son of former Chicago Bears player and head coach Mike Ditka, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Wednesday in Deerfield, police said.
Deerfield Police observed a black Hummer H3 located in a parking lot at the Deerfield Township Building, 601 Deerfield Road, with its lights turned off around 11:50 p.m. When the officer approached the car, Ditka stepped out from the driver's side, and according to the officer, had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.
After failing several field sobriety tests,, Ditka was arrested for DUI.
According to the police report, Ditka argued that he wasn't driving the vehicle. He was released after posting $100 cash bond and a court date is set for May 11.
