Cubs Confident 'Results Will Turn Around'

CHICAGO (CBS) At three games under the .500-mark, the Chicago Cubs are just four games back from the top of the NL Central. And there's legitimate reason to think Cubs can stay competitive in their division.

In his first six starts, Ryan Dempster was 1-3 with 9.58 earned run average, but he's 0-1 with a 1.93 ERA since the calender turned to April, his one loss took place on Sunday.

"I was able to keep the ball down for the most part, [Sunday], pretty well," Dempster said. "Gave us a chance to win."

Dempster scattered two runs and five hits over seven innings, but the Cubs' offense was shutout by Johnny Cueto and the Cincinnati Reds bullpen.

Despite the loss their series loss to the Reds, the Cubs still feel like it's just a matter of time until the wins start to pile up.

"We keep playing as hard as we're playing and guys keep working as hard as we're working, the results will turn around," Dempster said. "Because we've been giving it everything we have, every game."
