16-Year-Old Fatally Shot; Suspect In Custody
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 16-year-old boy is dead and one suspect is in custody following a shooting Thursday afternoon in the South Side Roseland neighborhood.
At 4:17 p.m., the teenager was shot in the back in the 10500 block of South Lafayette Avenue, police said. He was found in an alley and was taken in critical condition to Roseland Community Hospital.
The victim was identified as Larry Parks, 16, of 10131 S. Yale Ave., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 4:48 p.m.
One suspect was in custody as of 7:30 p.m., police said.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
