Morneau To DL, Will Miss White Sox Series

(CBS) Justin Morneau will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sore left wrist and will miss Wednesday's and Thursday's games against the White Sox.

The announcement was made by the Twins after Tuesday night's game was postponed due to rain. Morneau was not in the lineup Tuesday after missing three games against the Texas Rangers over the weekend. His wrist will be immobilized for 10 days.

Morneau could be replaced with second baseman Tsuyoshi Nishioka who has been on the disabled list since breaking his leg April 7. Both Niskioka and Glen Perkins -- who has been on the the disabled list since May 22 with a strained right oblique -- will return to Minneapolis Wednesday and be evaluated by team doctors before a roster move is made.
