Driver Cited After Hitting Girl On Bike In Naperville
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A 12-year-old girl was hospitalized with a minor leg injury after being knocked from her bike by a car Saturday afternoon in west suburban Naperville.
Naperville police Sgt. Kathy Anderson said the girl was riding northbound and crossed a private driveway in the 500 block of South Washington Street just as Lisle resident Robert Zamora was backing out at about 12:30 p.m.
"He didn't see her," Anderson said, adding that the driver felt terrible about the accident.
The girl was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville and treated for a minor leg injury, Anderson said.
Zamora, 45, received a ticket for failing to yield when exiting a private driveway, she said.
