LaPorte County Sheriff's Deputy Arrested For Child Porn

LAPORTE, Ind. (CBS) -- A sheriff's deputy from northwestern Indiana was arrested on child pornography charges on Wednesday.

Indiana State Police arrested David Oldham, 42, on eight counts of possession of child pornography, following an investigation that began last month, police said.

Oldham was being held in the LaPorte County jail on $10,000 bond.

Indiana State Police began investigating Oldham in June after LaPorte County Sheriff Mike Mollenhauer contacted them for assistance looking into "questionable actions" by Oldham, police said. During the investigation, state police determined Oldham was in possession of child pornography.

Oldham has been placed on administrative leave pending a merit board disciplinary hearing scheduled for next month.
