Dynamite Found Outside Naperville Home
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A half-stick of dynamite discovered Wednesday outside a house in Naperville was destroyed by police explosives experts.
No injuries were reported in the incident on the 3500 block of Fairmont Road, in the city's Heatherstone area.
Naperville police Cmdr. Ray Adkins said officers were called to the scene by a resident who had returned home after having been out of town since July 25. The dynamite was found in bushes on the property, Adkins said.
Members of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad picked up the dynamite and destroyed it in a nearby field without further incident, police said.
