Addison Woman Dies In Fall Off Uptown Building

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 22-year-old Addison woman died after she fell while trying to climb to a building's roof during a party in Uptown over the weekend.

Patrycja Wiszkowska, 22, died after falling from a ladder early Sunday at 4310 N. Sheridan Rd., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy on Monday determined that she died of multiple injuries from a fall from height and her death was ruled an accident, the medical examiner's office said.

She fell from the third floor while attempting to climb a ladder to the roof just before 5 a.m. Sunday, police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said.

Wiszkowska was attending a party in the building when she and a friend attempted to climb to the roof. Perez confirmed that people at the party were drinking but could not say if the woman was intoxicated.

She fell 35 feet when a rung on the ladder broke.
