Woman Falls From Platform At Howard 'L' Terminal
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Power was shut off to the CTA Red Line in the Rogers Park and Edgewater neighborhoods Friday morning, when a woman fell off the platform at the Howard terminal.
The woman fell from the 'L' platform at 7:44 a.m., Chicago Transit Authority spokeswoman Kim Myles said. She did not make contact with the electrified third rail.
Immediately after the woman fell, power to the Red Line was shut off between the Thorndale and Howard stops.
The woman was taken to an unspecified area hospital, Myles said.
Power had been restore to the line by 8:05 a.m., but trains were still delayed by 13 minutes, Myles said.
