Police Seek Suspect Who Robbed Woman At South Side ATM

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are asking for the public's help identifying a robbery suspect who held up a woman at an ATM inside a store in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The robber entered a store in the vicinity of 300 W. Garfield Blvd. on Aug. 17 at about 4 a.m. and, after a woman had completed her transaction at the ATM inside, he took her money by force, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The store's surveillance camera caught the robber on video and detectives were asking for the public's help identifying the suspect.

The robber is described as an African American man, 25 to 35 years old, standing 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and weighing 230 to 260 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans, black gym shoes and a blue Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap at the time of the robbery.
