2 Cops, CTA Employee Hurt In Overnight Crash

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two police officers and a Chicago Transit Authority employee were injured overnight in a crash in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.

The crash happened about 1 a.m. Thursday in the 3200 block of West Warren Boulevard, police News Officer Amina Greer said.

The squad car had its emergency lights and siren activated and was heading to assist another unit when it collided with a CTA vehicle, Greer said. It was not specified what kind of CTA vehicle was involved.

Two police officers and a CTA employee were all transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Fire Media Affairs Chief Joe Roccasalva said.

They suffered minor injuries and were taken to be checked out for precautionary reasons, Greer said.

It was not known if anyone would be ticketed in the crash.
