Woman, Teenage Girl Hospitalized After Uptown High-Rise Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman and a teenage girl are recovering, after being injured in an electrical fire in a high-rise apartment building.

Firefighters were called out at 11:40 p.m. Thursday for an electrical fire at the Eastwood Towers, a low-income high-rise apartment building at 4640 N. Sheridan Rd.

The fire was in the electrical room on the first floor.

A 43-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl suffered smoke inhalation were taken to an unspecified hospital, and were reported in stable condition shortly after the fire, according to Fire Media Affairs.

It was not known how severely the fire affected the building.
