Firefighter Hurt At Southeast Side Blaze

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Chicago firefighter was injured on Tuesday while battling a fire in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The fire started around noon in a 2 ½ story building at 8019 S. South Shore Dr., according to the Fire Department.

A firefighter was injured and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair to serious condition, but the extent of his injuries was not immediately available.

No other injuries were reported, but the fire caused significant damage to the building.
