One Dead, Three Hurt In Four-Vehicle Batavia Wreck

BATAVIA, Ill. (STMW) -- One man is dead and three other people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon following a head-on crash involving four vehicles in west suburban Batavia, according to officials.

At 3:06 p.m. a northbound vehicle veered into the southbound lanes on Kirk Road causing a head-on collision with three vehicles near Wind Energy Pass, according to a release from Batavia police.

One man was dead on the scene and a woman was airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, according to Batavia Fire Lieutenant Ralph Strange.

The man was a 48-year-old St. Charles resident, according to the release. The woman was a 40-year-old Batavia resident.

Two other people were taken in unidentified conditions to Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, according to the lieutenant. Another two people were treated and released at the scene.

Batavia Police were not available for comment Saturday evening.

Kirk Road was reopened as of 7:30 p.m.

Batavia Police are investigating.
