Bolland is battling an upper body injury, but head coach Joel Quenneville has said it is not another concussion or a back injury. Bolland could play in Saturday’s home opener.

Meanwhile, Smith is recovering from a concussion and did not skate Thursday. He is day-to-day, according to Quenneville.
