Kids Accused Of Neglecting Elderly Mother

AURORA (CBS) -- Two of the three adult children of an Aurora woman face a preliminary hearing in Kane County Tuesday--where they are accused of felony neglect of their elderly mother.

WBBM's Newsradio's Steve Miller reports, the state's attorney in Kane County says the children of a 77-year-old woman failed to see to it their mother was fed--or bathed.

And that when she was finally taken to the hospital earlier this month, she had a three-inch deep open wound on her lower back.

Her right leg was black from gangrene--and had to be amputated.

The woman has been hospitalized.

Her three adult children are charged with criminal neglect. All three--two sons and a daughter--are being held on $250,000 bond each.

A preliminary hearing is set Tuesday for 54-year-old Alan Roberson and 42-year-old Kevin Roberson.
