Bears Sign LB Williams Off Waivers From Rams

(CBS) The Bears have signed linebacker Jabara Williams off waivers from the Rams.

The Bears had a roster spot open up after they released veteran safety Chris Harris earlier in the day.

Williams, 6-foot-2, 228 pounds, was a seventh-round draft choice in 2011 by the St. Louis Rams.

Williams was named the 2010 Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Texas native finished his college career with 411 tackles, 7.0 sacks, four interceptions and 19 passes defensed en route to three all-Southland Conference first-team honors.
