63-Year-Old Woman Dies In West Rogers Park Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 63-year-old woman died in a fire at a West Rogers Park apartment building on Monday.

The fire broke out around 11:45 a.m. in the 2600 block of West Lunt Avenue, according to a Chicago Fire Media spokesperson.

Firefighters found the woman on the first floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, it appeared the woman suffered burns, but no smoke inhalation injuries.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, but fire officials said there were no working smoke alarms.
