(WSCR) Field of Dreams has a new owner.

Michael Stillman, who is part of a group who recently bought the Field of Dreams, joined The Mully and Hanley Show to discuss his new purchase.

“We want to make it into a premier baseball and softball facility, which really, the Midwest doesn’t have,” Stillman said. “A lot of people go to (other areas), this is something we lack. One thing needs to be clear: We are keeping the movie site in tact — the home, everything. The diamonds are going to be in an entirely different part of the property.”

Field of Dreams is a baseball diamond in Dyersville, Iowa, built for the 1989 film Field of Dreams about a farmer who builds a baseball diamond in the middle of a cornfield because a voice told him to.

After he builds the diamond, historic baseball players come out of the cornfield to play ball there at night.
