Updated 11/6/11 - 3 p.m.

KANEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ill. (STMW) - A motorist was airlifted to an area hospital after the car he was driving collided with a semi truck Saturday afternoon in Kane County.

An semi truck collided with a Chevrolet Impala about 3:50 p.m. near County Line Road and Main Street in unincorporated Kaneville Township, according to a release from the Kane County Sheriff's office. The semi was not hauling anything.

The driver of the Impala -- identified as 30-year-old Ryan J. Siebendrodt of Des Moines, Iowa -- was airlifted from the scene to an unidentified hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries, the release said. Nobody else was in the Impala and the driver of the semi truck -- 66-year-old Walter J. Seilheimer of Sandwich -- was uninjured.

The Kane County Sheriff's office is still investigating Sunday afternoon.
