Maddux Favorite For Cubs Job?

(CBS) Texas Rangers pitching coach Mike Maddux has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Red Sox manager opening and he could be the favorite for the Cubs job, according to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.

That news came via a tweet on Heyman's Twitter account.

Heyman also wrote on Twitter that Greg Maddux isn't necessarily eager to be a pitching coach if his brother is hired as Cubs manager.

Meanwhile, MLB Network's Peter Gammons reports that Mike Maddux has not interviewed with the Cubs yet and he's not sure the pitching coach wants to make the move.
