Your Chicago: Defining Moments Scrapooking Store

EVANSTON, Ill. (CBS) -- Tucked between bicycle shops and art stores, there is a place called Defining Moments.

It's not just any place, it's a scrapbook store and the vision of Jocelyn Tobias, who started it two years ago in Wilmette before moving it to Evanston.

"Scrapbooking" is a family tradition that has literally been passed down through the generations.

Now Jocelyn has passed it down to her daughter, Sammy, who was in interior design until she got a chance to start this project with her mom.

You can just walk in and shop, but the store also hosts birthday parties, bridal parties, and ladies' nights. They will provide all of the paper glue and supplies -- all you need is creativity.

"I just love the whole idea that you can take your memories and put them someplace creative," Moira Felish tells CBS 2's Rob Johnson.

Sheri Lewison got in to scrapbooking when she got married.

"I wanted to put together a scrapbook of my honeymoon, so I saved tickets and took pictures," she says.
