(WSCR) With the winter meetings at full force in Dallas, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times joined The Mully and Hanley Show to break down what’s been going on.

Cowley was adamant that the White Sox trade of Sergio Santos is the first or many as the South Siders begin the long process of rebuilding.

“I think it’s the first piece of other pieces to go,” Cowley said. “When you throw out the term rebuilding, it means there are other things happening.

“I don’t think there is a timetable that’s immediate. You’re locked into so many bad contracts anyway. The payroll is going to be kind of high for the quality of the team that you have out there. This could stretch all the way to the July 31 trade deadline where they’re still trying to move some of these guys.”
