Bowen: Bears Must Create Opportunities For Hanie

(WSCR) In the three weeks since Caleb Hanie has taken over at quarterback, the Bears defense has given up a total of three touchdowns.

The result? Three straight losses. That can only mean one thing -- the Bears offense, led by Hanie, needs to start making plays for the Bears to have a chance.

"Create opportunities for Caleb Hanie, that's what they have to do -- use different combinations routes, use different looks at the line of scrimmage, try to get him open receivers to hit," Matt Bowen of the National Football Post and Chicago Tribune told The Mully and Hanley Show. "Right now, he's still struggling with his football work. He's still struggling in the pocket. He doesn't look very confident. It's almost as if you have to create these situations where he can stand in there, get his feet set and throw the football.
