Latest Chicago Weather Forecast

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Conditions will remain cloudy, but mild, for the rest of the afternoon. Easterly winds coming off the lake have been sending a drier air flow into the Chicago area, and the sloppy rain-snow mix that had been expected for Tuesday has been kept far to the south in Kankakee County.

But spotty drizzle could be seen through the afternoon in evening. The afternoon high will rise to a comfortable 40 degrees, reports CBS 2 Meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist.

Rest of Tuesday:
Cloudy with a 30 percent chance of light rain or drizzle. Highs around 40. East winds around 10 mph.

Tuesday Night:
Cloudy with chance of rain and areas of drizzle. Temperatures nearly steady in the upper 30s. Light and variable winds. Chance of measurable precipitation 50 percent.

Wednesday:
Cloudy. A 50 percent chance of rain in the morning. Highs in the mid 40s. Light and variable winds early in the morning becoming west around 10 mph in the late morning and afternoon.

Wednesday Night:
Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s. Southwest winds around 10 mph.
