Along North Avenue in Lincoln Park, shoppers reported an easy shopping day on Christmas Eve.
Kate Orbon says she might wait until the last minute next Christmas too, since Christmas Eve shopping is so calm.

Excuses for the last minute shopping varied:
Some reported waiting until the last minute, because they didn't know what to get certain people on their list; some said they just plain forgot something, one shopper tells WBBM Newsradio, he's inept at shopping on his own, and had to wait until he and his girlfriend were off work to go shopping together.
Shoppers could only speculate on why there weren't so many of them.
Some shopped a lot on line, some people thought others were already spending time with family, and some say it's the economy.
