GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS) -- It turns out some fans got a little out of hand during the Christmas Day Bears-Packers game.

There were also 49 fan ejections from the same, which is more than double the usual 15 to 20 during a typical contest.

Officials are speculating as to reasons. It was a night game, so fans could drink all day long prior to kickoff – it having been Christmas notwithstanding.

Also, many season ticketholders turned over their seats to newbie fans who had never been to a Packers game before.

Finally, it was against their hated rival, the Bears.

Of course, the Bears had a miserable time in the game, losing 35-21. The loss knocks the Bears out of playoff contention.
