CHICAGO (CBS) -- Temperatures will stay colder than we have seen in recent days, as skies remain cloudy with the occasional peek of sunshine.

In the afternoon, the high is expected to rise from the upper 20s to 37 degrees, although it may stay a few degrees colder than that if no sunshine breaks through, reports CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros.

Some light flurries are possible as a system producing snow off to the west passes through.

Rest of Wednesday:
Mostly cloudy. Colder. Highs in the mid to upper 30s. Light and variable winds in the morning becoming southwest around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night:
Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming cloudy. Lows in the upper 20s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Thursday:
Mostly cloudy. Unseasonably mild. Highs in the mid 40s. West winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph early in the afternoon.

Thursday Night:
Rain...possibly mixed with a bit of snow or sleet. Lows in the mid to upper 30s. Southwest winds around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
