McHENRY, Ill. (CBS) -- A Woodstock man has been hit with two felony charges for allegedly firing a gun and killing another man in what is believed to be an accidental shooting.

McHenry County sheriff's police came to the home at 1901 Woodlawn Park Ave. in unincorporated McHenry around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, and found that Maxwell T. Cannon, 21, had fired a gun and seriously injured another man.

The victim was taken to Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, where he was pronounced dead, sheriff's police said. Police did not identify the victim.

Cannon was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless discharge of a firearm.
