2 Shot, Wounded In South Austin

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A teenage boy was critically wounded, and another man was also injured, when a gunman opened fire late Thursday night in the South Austin neighborhood.

The boy, 15, and the 20-year-old man were standing on a corner in the 5500 block of West Adams Street about 11:50 p.m. when a shooter approached and opened fire, police said.

The teen was shot in the pelvis and forearm, and was last reported in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

The man was shot in the leg and was in stable condition, also at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Grand Central Area detectives are investigating the shooting. No one was in custody early Friday.
