McDermott's 42 leads Creighton past Bradley 92-83

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- Doug McDermott scored a career-high 42 points Saturday night to lead Creighton to a 92-83 victory over Bradley.

McDermott made 18 of his 23 shots from the field and all five of his free throws. He was 3 for 5 from 3-point range for the Bluejays (13-2, 3-1 Missouri Valley) and contributed eight rebounds.

His previous career high was 35 points last month at Tulsa. McDermott scored 13 points in the first half, after which the Bluejays led 44-34; he then made his first 10 shots in the second half.

Gregory Echenique had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Creighton, and Jahenns Manigat scored 13. The Bluejays were 10 of 20 from 3-point range and shot 61 percent from the field overall.

Taylor Brown led the Braves (5-11, 0-4) with 25 points. Walt Lemon Jr. scored 16, Dyricus Simms-Edwards had 14 points and Jake Eastman scored 10 for Bradley.
