Elburn Police Investigate Shooting Death Of Elderly Man
ELBURN, Ill. (STMW) -- Elburn police are investigating the shooting death of a 71-year-old St. Charles man who was found shot on Friday in the 800 block of East North Street.
John Heinz, of Limberi Lane in rural St. Charles, was found unresponsive and with a slight pulse when officers responded to reports of shots fired and a man down.
Police found Heinz apparently suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to Delnor Hospital where he was pronounced dead at around 7:30 p.m.
The Elburn Police Department and the Kane County coroner's office are investigating.
