CHICAGO (STMW) — A teenage boy was fatally shot in the Avondale neighborhood Saturday night on the Northwest Side.

Police responded at 7:52 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the 3400 block of North Monticello Avenue and learned that a 17-year-old boy had been shot and was later dropped off at Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center, police said.

Edgar Delgado, of the 3400 block of North Central Park Avenue, was pronounced dead there at 8:19 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
