Thibs: Bulls Don't Need To Make Any Trades

(WSCR) As the trade deadline looms, undoubtedly the rumors will begin to grow louder.

Names like Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol have already been mixed in with the Bulls, but head coach Tom Thibodeau said his team doesn't need any new players to compete at a high level.

"I love the guys that we have," Thibodeau told The Mully and Hanley Show. "John (Paxon) and Gar (Forman,) that's their job to study the league and to see if there's anything that might help us. They do that every day. We're very pleased with the guys that we have. We believe we have the right guys that have the right type of attitude and approach. And, we feel we're deep. If nothing happens, we're good. We like the guys that we have here."

One of those guys taking the right approach has been forward Luol Deng, who was voted to his first All Star game this season.

"The way he's carried himself throughout his career, I think each year he's gotten better and better," Thibodeau said. "Of course, we all understand how important he is to our team and all the contributions he makes to winning. Sometimes, what gets lost in it all, is his great leadership. He's just a great leader.

"When I was coaching against him, I was always concerned that we would lose him. If you're not paying attention to him, you turn around at the end of the game and he has 20 points on you. I didn't realize how good he is defensively in his ability to guard 2s, 3s, 4s and even in some cases, 1s. He's a complete player."

Still, Thibodeau knows that his team will goes as Derrick Rose goes.

"You can't say enough about Derrick," Thibodeau said. "Not only is he a great player, he's an ever better person. He'll continue to get better. That's hard to believe because he's already at the top. It's his drive, his humility - he's never satisfied. It's always team first with him. As the best player on the team, it sets a great tone for our team."
