Blagojevich Assigned Federal Prison Number

CHICAGO (CBS) -- We now know how Rod Blagojevich will be known when he begins his 14 year prison sentence next week.

As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, the deposed governor has been given a federal prison ID number. It is how he will be known for as long as he is behind bars, which could be as little as 11 1/2 years with time off for good behavior.

The number is 40892-424.

Following his second trial last summer, Blagojevich was convicted last year of 18 corruption charges, including an allegation that he tried to sell President Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat in 2008. U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel sentenced him to 14 years in prison in December.

Zagel has recommended that Blagojevich serve his time at a medium-security prison in Englewood, Colo., but the U.S. Bureau of Prisons has the final say and has yet to make the information public.
