Report: Dave Duerson's Assets Were Worth $19,500 At Death

(WSCR) The tragic story of former Bear Dave Duerson's suicide took an interesting turn Wednesday, when reports showed the two-time Super Bowl champion was deep into bankruptcy filings.

Duerson, who shot himself in the chest in April to preserve his brain for dementia testing, was worth just $19,500, with creditors after his possessions.

The report alleges that at Duerson's death scene police collected some of the valuables from his house, including Super Bowl rings, personal property, and other memorabilia.

Those items have since been sold.
