Rockies Beat Cubs 7-5

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Colorado Rockies starter Jhoulys Chacin exited with a blister on his right index finger after throwing three scoreless innings Thursday in a 7-5 victory over a split squad of Chicago Cubs.

Chacin said he doesn't think he will miss his next spring training start on Tuesday. The right-hander is expected to be the Rockies' No. 2 starter.

Cubs second baseman Blake DeWitt left in the fifth after he was hit by a pitch on his right arm. He will be reevaluated.

Chacin allowed one hit, struck out one and walked one. The blister popped up on the tip of his finger when he was throwing in the bullpen and kept growing.

Cubs starter Rodrigo Lopez stayed in the game after a comebacker struck him in the lower back in the third.
