DCFS Investigates Death Of Infant In Pullman Neighborhood

CHICAGO (STMW) - The state Department of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of neglect against the mother of a 8-week-old infant who was found unresponsive Tuesday in his South Side Pullman neighborhood home.

Christopher Boyd, 8 weeks, was found unresponsive Tuesday in his home in the 12300 block of South Union Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

DCFS is investigating allegations of neglect against the mother, said agency spokesman Kendall Marlowe.

The agency has not had prior contact with the family, said Marlowe, who declined to comment when asked if there were any other children in the home.

Boyd was pronounced dead at Roseland Community Hospital at 9:19 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
