Bears Sign Ex-Giants WR Devin Thomas

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Bears have signed former free agent wide receiver and special teams player Devin Thomas to a one-year deal.

Thomas spent the past two seasons with the New York Giants. Terms of his deal with the Bears were not disclosed.

He had two key fumble recoveries in the playoffs during the Giants' Super Bowl run, including the one that set up the winning field goal of the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco Giants.

In his two years with the Giants, Thomas had 25 kickoff returns for 607 yards and three receptions for 37 yards. He also collected eight special teams tackles in 20 games.

In his career, Thomas has played 55 games for the Giants, the Washington Redskins, and the Carolina Panthers. In his career, he has 43 receptions for 482 yards and three touchdowns.

Thomas has returned 60 kickoffs for a total of 1,445 yards. He also has 23 special teams tackles, two fumble recoveries, and a blocked punt.
