56-Year-Old Man Dies In Crash On Far South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 56-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon when the car he was driving struck another vehicle head-on in the Far South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood.

Daniel Tate of the 7400 block of South Kingston was pronounced dead at 2:33 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The crash took place about 1:48 p.m. in the 1800 block of East 95th Street, police said.

The car driven by Tate was heading east on 95th when it crossed into the westbound lane and hit another vehicle, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle, who police said was a 36-year-old man, was taken in "stable" condition to Advocate Trinity Hospital.

The police Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
